View post

Answer #1: If you receive GTIN exemption and list your ASINs as such, you will not be able to add a UPC label on the product later down the road. My colleague @Michelle_Amazon just posted a discussion about the Detail Page Policies you might want to check out -->HERE<-- when you have a chance.

Per the updated Product Detail Page Rules Policy:

Policies for editing detail pages

You cannot edit, update, or add the product ID for a listing that has been created with GTIN exemption. Product ID is a non-editable value and cannot be modified once a listing is created. If you want to update the product ID for a listing that has been created with GTIN exemption, you must delete and create a new listing of the product with a GS1 approved product identifier.

Answer #2: GTIN Exemptions occur at the category level. To view which categories allow GTIN Exemption, please review the help page -->HERE<--

3. does anyone can do me.to on my listing if I list without UPC

Answer #3: Anyone can list against a product unless the product is generic: "If you create a new product with the brand name "generic" or its local translation, other sellers won’t be able to make product detail page changes or add offers."

If you create your product as generic, you cannot update the brand later. Brand string changes from "generic" to branded, or branded to "generic" are not allowed to protect the integrity of the product per the Amazon Generic Product policy.

4. Does our listing hijacked if we don't use UPC??

View post

Answer #4: UPCs don't protect anything from getting taken over by other sellers. If something happens to your ASIN, you can always report it through Seller Support or use the Report a Violation tool.

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding the information provided above. Have a lovely rest of the week and take care.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
