Can You Delete Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico Altogether?
I am looking to completely block buyers in AK, HI, and PR from buying certain SKU's
It is not worth the aggravation to keep trying to tweak the shipping charges to retain buyers on heavy items.
Today again I have to refund (and upset) a buyer because I am not going pay $260 freight on a "free shipping" item. I checked my cost and it was $259 and change, and my settings were such that the charge to the buyer would have been $260. However, Amazon decided my shipping charge was too high, and just removed it.
The template offers a separate field for AK, HI and PR, and it has a DELETE button. I'm just wondering what unforeseen occurrences will befall me if I click that button.

You can remove them from your templates and use Domestic shipping.

Just remember that a change to a template affects all SKUs using that template.
So set up a special template for those items. I believe you can eliminate them -- just try it and see.

In addition to the above, I'm going to link the oft-referenced post Shipping Templates 1.01, how to fill a Shipping Template step-by-step from an experienced seller a few years back with many helpful screenshots and step-by-step instructions that is often shared when this topic comes up.
