Reference Price - Unable to create discounts or coupons

Though I have a list price on all of my items, I do not have a Reference Price. My assumption is due to the fact that I am a small manufacturer and my products are only sold here, my website, 2 retail stores, Meta and TikTok. I am a very small business but have a cool niche product. With the summer months being slow, I wanted to offer a discount, especially with Prime traffic but I am unable to do so. I have both FBA and MCF, so I am perplexed- ESPECTIALLY, since I was able to do discounts in the past!

Is there anything I can do? Has anyone found a work around? Please help! Thanks so much.

To offer a discounted list price you need to have made recently "substantial sales" at the reference price.

You cannot just strike through a price at which you did sell almost nothing.

"For a List Price to display, it must represent the price at which you or other retailers or sellers have recently made substantial sales of the product in question, and your offer must be lower than the List Price."

I ran into the same problem. This whole thing does not make any sense. I am creating a coupon with DISCOUNT for an already created listing. It should not have anything to do with reference price. The coupon give the customer a discount from the current selling price and not reference price.

Amazon's system uses sales for the specific product (trailing 30-days) to establish the 'Reference Price'. It is not based on outside factors such as your website, retail stores, or other platforms. Products must have at least 1 sale in the trailing 30-days and the price at that moment is the 'Reference Price'. Hope this helps!

Hello @Seller_qFSLedetNTrtk- thanks for the post. I can help share this page on understanding coupon errors which has some possible reasons and troubleshooting steps. I'll also mention that our policy on Reference Prices does indicate that Amazon may not use a List Price if we cannot verify it.

As I understand you've already reached out to support to work on the topic, feel free to let me know that case ID so I can take a closer look at the specifics should further support be needed!
