Is it true that Amazon is going to charge more for shippers who ship their own products?
Has Amazon released something saying they are going to charge us an additional fee if we continue to ship our own products?
From Bloomberg, "Thousands of third-party sellers who ship products themselves will start paying a 2% fee on each sale in October, according to documents reviewed by Bloomberg. That's on top of the commission — usually 15% — that merchants already pay Amazon to sell products on the popular web store."

I believe the 2% fee is if you are doing seller fulfilled prime, as mentioned in this Amazon announcement.

It actually helps if you read the whole story, BUT you have to subscribe to get to the factual part instead of the click-bait headline. As @Odrade surmised, it's not everyone!
"The new fee targets merchants who use Seller Fulfilled Prime, a service that lets them handle logistics themselves and still get an Amazon Prime badge, which lets customers know they can expect quick delivery."

Another tactic to strongarm 3p sellers to use their fba service instead. We are already shipping 6 days a week and have to be held to a higher performance standard than amazon holds themselves. Another 2 percent is huge. Between fees and competitve shipping this is actually pretty crushing.

As others have mentioned, this article appears to be referencing the return of Seller Fulfilled Prime. There have been some news announcements about this, but if you'd like to deep dive the upcoming changes to the program I recommend reading through this recently updated Help page.
