Any insight to sales trends for 2024?

Hi everyone!

I started selling in June and had a great holiday season! However, I have no idea what to expect for the next couple of month and need to figure out inventory to not get punished for having too much or too little :( ...

Just some general input would be great I know all depends on the product. Also are there any Amazon sales events until June?

Happy New Years Eve!

Stay safe, healthy and happy sales next year.

There will be no new trends in retail sales for 2024. Retail sales trends are the same year after year.

- Jan & Feb are slower months because buyers with disposal cash are paying off holiday shopping. Although Jan is a little better due to gift card shopping.

- Retailers and knowledgeable Amazon sellers will be attending the ASD show in Las Vegas in Feb 2024. That is where manufacturers will be displaying the new products for the next Christmas shopping season. Yes, 2024 holiday shopping starts this far in advance.

- Pay no attention to Amazon sales events. Betting on some special day instead of having stock that can be sold throughout the year is rather foolish.

- There is nothing wrong with having too much inventory, provided it is inventorying that buyers want and need, they are the items that sell all year long.

- Don't use FBA. You pay for the storage of slow-moving stock which is rather foolish. Using FBM a product can site there in a live listing until sold and cost nothing but the Amazon commission from the sale.

The more you learn and understand how he retail sales business works, the better off you will be.

This is highly category dependent. For instance, when other sellers are going gangbusters our company is twiddling our thumbs. And our company is going gangbusters while other sellers are complaining about lean sales.

This is a tough question to give a general answer to.

Election Year. Normal trends don't apply.

For our business I expect same as 2023 but understand it may not arrive in the same way. Always best to add new items if possible, continue to offer incentives, and diversify. Anyone, for who knows why can get bumped off this platform. Bumped either by Amazon, or a competitor you are un-aware of. Work for the best, expect some hits.

Well , my sales are down 93% so far over the start of 2023 and they are the worst start to the year ever by far for me and I started in DEC. 2020. I'm at a lost for words at how awful it has been and how agonizing it is to me!
