Can't Create Listings for Assorted Products Which share the same UPC code

Hi there,

We're having trouble creating listings for products from wholesale companies that sell assorted items (e.g., red, blue, and green toy cars) that all share the same UPC code. We have to buy the entire assortment and want to list each item individually on Amazon.

From what I understand, each variant needs its own UPC code, and we can't get a GTIN exemption for these assortments. Also, Amazon doesn't allow us to use our own GS1 UPC codes unless they come from the brand.

Does anyone have suggestions? Someone mentioned "editing the catalog page to show variations and then asking seller support to split the page", but I'm not sure how that works.

This seems to be a widespread issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Hi @Christmas_Loft,

Thanks for the post. Each product need it's own UPC code. We verify the authenticity of product UPCs by checking the GS1 database. UPCs that do not match the information provided by GS1 will be considered invalid. Obtain your UPCs directly from GS1 and not from other third parties selling UPC licenses.

All invalid product UPC listings will be removed and may result in your ASIN creation or selling privileges being temporarily or permanently removed.

Best regards,
