Is it possible to block a specific customer from ordering from our listings?

We would like to block a specific customer from ordering from us, as every time they order, there is some type of abuse and return.

Is it possible to block a specific client from ordering our listings (not the items, per se, but our selling of those items)?

Thank you,

Lawrence

Hello @Seller_8uc0P1EJEs5cJ

Unfortunately, it is not possible to block a specific customer from placing orders against your selling account.

What I can say is that you can consider canceling their orders, that is if you believe your ODR can survive that hit. Or, I know that other sellers have dealt with this issue by deactivating that listing until the person targeting you loses interest and moves on.

I hope this helps in some small way.

Buyers will abuse sellers by trying to get free products, refunds without returning items and/or they harass you through the buyer/seller messaging on Amazon.

We had the same person harass us twice since April and we just report them and don't respond back. They refused to follow policy/instructions and they waited 60+ days after purchase to complain.

I think brand owners should have the power to block abusive buyers AND sellers who don't have brand permission to sell their products.

Best of luck!

Unfortunately, there is not. Amazon considers any customer to be theirs, not yours.

I did not tell you this but sending the worst item to them in sloppy packaging usually stops them from ordering from you.

If you have room for the metrics hit for the canceled order just keep cancelling their order. I had one customer returned 7 items in a row with bogus return reasons (obviously used) so we put their name on the shipping computer and just cancelled the order each time after 3 or 4 times he stopped ordering.

NO! Unlike Ebay, where you can block scammers, returners, and other obnoxious buyers, on Amazon you have to allow the abuse as many times as a customer wants to obtain free products ect.

That is the joke about Amazon's Customer-centric policy; the customers can do whatever they want without getting punished, and we sellers do not have one resource to protect ourselves.

We should be able to review customers and create blacklists that could be shared with other sellers.

Another solution is for Amazon to take responsibility and assume the loss created by bad customers since they let them run free.

I won't have believed it, had I not seen it with my own eyes -- Amazon Support (here) suggesting cancelling an order if your ODR can take the hit! WOW.

So many questions...how does this stop the buyer from simply re-ordering? And then you having to keep cancelling? IF this buyer is malicious, I don't expect s/he will just stop...

Anyway, yes, there is no way of blocking buyers unfortunately. Like a B&M can ban, say a shoplifter, we do not have that option.

Q: What tends to be the buyer's return reason??

We had a customer who would buy and claim it never arrived. The client did the sam,e on Ebay. We submitted documetns proving the customer was committing fraud. Amazon removed the customers 3 accounts.

Please take this sincere suggestion to whatever executive has some say in the matter. It would be extremely helpful to have to option to block a buyer that we know is going to be an issue.
