I think the Tariff cost SHOULD be displayed for Consumers

So Jeff, friend of Trump, capitulated and pulled down the line item on invoices showing Tariffs. As a consumer I want to know how much I'm paying in tariff taxes towards the purchase.

Amazon seller fees should be transparent to buyers as well.

No, this was a made up story. A senator misunderstood what was going on, and told Trump, who of course blew it all out of proportion.

Amazon considered this on their Haul app (I think that's the right name), but decided not too; never considered doing it on Amazon.com.

Although I think it would be cool to show the consumer just how much the tariffs hurt them.

Yes, very good idea. And immediately a 50% tax cut for all US taxpayers, financed by those tariffs.

American sellers have dropped below 50% nearly two years ago. However, Chinese sellers have grown above 50% only recently, as there is a small percentage of sellers in other countries. Based on Marketplace Pulse research, Chinese sellers now represent more than 50% of the top sellers on Amazon.com, with U.S. sellers representing roughly 45% and the rest in the U.K., Canada, or other countries. China’s share of all active sellers is even higher. (Some international sellers incorporate in the U.S., so American sellers’ actual share is lower than 45%)

Amazon acknowledged the Chinese seller market share on its marketplace for the first time in the annual Form 10-K filing with the SEC in February 2024, calling it “significant.” However, it was significant years before Amazon called it out — their share has steadily increased for nearly a decade on Amazon.com in the U.S. and its other worldwide marketplaces.

I agree - the problem is that the people who voted for them think that China is paying them and the interim is very painful for us because we will have to increase prices and then we will lose sales. I design and manufacture a small amount of items in China and do not have any options here. I think everyone would rather buy from the US because it is a lot less hassle but there is no capabiltiy here and there will never be. China has scale and shipping and labor for the globe whereas the US is not going to invest in machines to make .01 bouncy balls.

A REAL WIN FOR ALL USA 3RD PARTY SELLERS ON AMAZON WILL COMPETE VS THE CHINA SELLERS

Better yet Amazon should show the seller country to customers. This can be done with browser extensions currently (I do this personally) but simply having a little American or Chinese flag next to the listing in the search would immediately help US sellers and give customers more power in their purchasing decision.
