Today we are discussing the FBA Donations program as part of our continued series on removal options for FBA inventory in the Manage Inventory category.

When you elect to dispose of inventory in Amazon fulfillment centers, Amazon prioritizes donating undesired inventory to selected charities through the FBA Donations program. In the US, FBA Donations partners with Good360 to distribute donated FBA inventory across its diverse network of US nonprofits, which support people in need. As part of their agreement with Good360, the nonprofits may not sell, trade, or barter donated goods. If a product is not eligible for donation, Amazon will dispose of it in accordance with relevant regulations and safety guidelines.

While you’re enrolled in FBA Donations by default, sellers have the option of opting out of the program. To verify your enrollment status, select Fulfillment by Amazon from the Settings drop-down menu, and scroll down to FBA Donations program. To opt out, click Edit, and then select Disable.

Though Amazon cannot provide tax advice to sellers who are enrolled, it is recommended that you contact your tax adviser to determine whether a charitable deduction is an option for you.
