Best Practices for Product Transitions on Amazon

Hi All,

We have a few products changing - some with new counts, some with new SKUs and new counts.

Are there any best practices for these new SKUs other than creating or attaching to an already created ASIN?

Is there anything that can be done to let the customers purchasing the current ASIN (which is no longer produced) know that a new one exists or do we just have to wait until all the vendors selling the current SKU run out of product and they will come over at that point?

The new listings will have 0 reviews, is there a way to encourage customers to leave reviews for the new SKUs/ASINs?

Thanks,

Hi @Seller_mh8hM7M0KRVCx,

Thanks for posting to the Forums. For changes in product count, I would recommend reviewing the Listings Lounge: We Are Family (of Variations) for some tips and tricks you can use to manage the different counts of your product via variations.

For new SKUs, check out the Listing Lounge: How to Drive Traffic to a Newer Version of Your Old ASIN, which explains the details for setting up the "newer version widget." When you add a "newer version widget", the detail page will display ‘There is a newer model of this item’, generally below the bullet points on the listing.

I hope this information helps!

Regards,

- Manny
