Barcodes on products from shopify
I am trying to list my products from shopify to amazon. I assumed it would be easier since all the product information is already there. Do these products not already come with barcode's or GTIN's? Or is this something I have to purchase for an already existing product?
I am so confused with this part and every help center i've asked is very vague. Amazon, shopify & CED Commerce App. none of their suggestions have worked.
I didn;t anticipate I would need to spend hundreds of dollars on new barcodes
Please help!!

How is it that you do not know this about the product you are selling?
This is a warning flag. As recommended above you need to study Seller University and read the forums regularly before proceeding.

You don't know your products?
If you want to sell products with a barcode and this is NOT your brand, that means you will sell OTHER brands. To do that you need a "Letter of Authorization" from that brand.

Your post makes me think you have simply hired someone to do everything for you on Shopify.
If this is the case and you have allowed that person (or any other virtual assistant) access to your Amazon account you will probably lose your Amazon selling account before you do much of anything just from association with that person as the odds are very high that they will be associated with suspended accounts.
You must learn to do this yourself and do the learning first.

Regarding starting on Amazon, as others have stated, I would recommend that you review Seller University and learn more about listing on Amazon. When you start to create your listings, you must have barcodes purchased by GS1 or and here are the requirements. If you do not have a barcode for your items, you can request a GTIN exemption however, I would ensure that you are the brand owner or that you are buying your items from an authorized distributor directly from the brand.
