Battery Compliance For Watches, Even Amazon's Own Listings Being Removed
I am sure most of you who clicked on this post are aware of what is going on for battery compliance. The Reese law states that it only applies to product that do not require special tool to be opened. Watches require a special tool and a child can't just open them, yet we have had so many listings removed that its getting harder to make a sale. We keep sending them email but we get same response from different people even though we have send links, page, quotes, and screenshots of the law stating that items requiring special tools to open are excluded.
Now the kicker is we have seen many of listings that is shipped and sold by Amazon also removed. How is nobody at Amazon realizing this as they would have tons of inventory just sitting, not just third party inventory but their own. They must have thousands of products with hundreds and thousands of inventory stranded. Nobody seems to fix this issue and more and more listings are being removed.
They're losing ton of money, not just from third party sellers but also their own sales. I do not know currently what to do anymore.
Hopefully someone at Amazon will read this and fix this problem that has been ongoing for months.

I agree with you. The exact same thing is happening to my now deleted Casio watch and calculator stock. These batteries are screwed down so well that I can't even get inside the item. This is so wrong.
You said it better than I can. Amazon is biting off not just our faces, but theirs as well.

Almost all Casio products have been removed from Amazon last weekend. Casio products can't be opened by a child...

This is incorrect. ALL items that contain a button cell battery require testing if the product hasn't already been certified under child safety requirements.
You have to respond to the compliance requests with your test results, images of the product and packaging, etc. Otherwise, your products will be removed from the site.

"How is nobody at Amazon realizing this.."
Because Bots have no brains to realize anything, Im sorry I mean Amazon

These compliance forms should be required for cheap Chinese products and unbranded products... Not for big well known brands like Casio, Invicta, etc.. Amazon themselves sell and hold a massive inventory for these brands. Casio has been around for 80+ years and follow every compliance. How are us small 3p vendors expected to obtain lab testing for thousands of these models? Amazon always making it as difficult as possible.

Wait you want someone at Amazon to think logically?
If its the same team that designed the new inventory interface, we are in trouble.
They are on a childrens jewelry witch hunt too,
Your item has attributes that make us think its childrens- like the bullet that says "not intended for children under 12" or the 20" chain ?

Also, this will most likely have sellers go to other platforms, which I have already noticed, resulting in even more loss for Amazon. It baffles me that nobody up top has noticed their watch sales being substantially lower than before especially for third party sellers but again they probably have their own inventory just sitting. Either Amazon has to step up and talk with the government that certain products do not pose risks as they're not easy to get inside of and remove batteries. Or let buyers sell it at their own risk.

Make me happier when Amazon attacks their own listings show how really stupid they are and one day we may all wake up to find entire platform removed. Listings that were remove the time is now to take advantage of eBay because customers will still find.

I have had some listings removed for not showing proper documentation regarding batteries. Funny thing, the listings were removed on products that don't even require batteries. I sell cookie cutters. I have emailed Amazon several times trying to tell them that my cookie cutters are simple pieces of metal that do not require batteries. But they always respond with a "cookie cutter" response informing me that the listing has been flagged and documentation needs to be uploaded.

Ya, I lost many many listings to the button battery compliance... not my branded items, so not much I can do and/or not worth the effort money to comply on Amazon. Other marketplaces will get the referral money instead. Many of those listings of mine also included Amazon selling on them as well. I am just guessing that Amazon liquidations are hoppin right now.
