Suspicious review analysis and help wanted
We understand the need for customers on Amazon to be able to leave positive or negative reviews reflecting actual experiences with the reviewed product.
We recently had a review that features the following elements we find suspicious when considered together.
- Vague about their experiences with our product, with out-of-date details that focus on an old version of our packaging that hasn't been used for our products for many months. These details appear to be copied, verbatim, from other negative reviews left months ago.
- Extremely specific about their positive experiences with a competing product that's mentioned in the most SEO-friendly way imaginable: there's a high-traffic keywords mentioned using Title Case (used nowhere else in the review), followed by the competing product's full Amazon Product Detail Page title in quotation marks. The competitor product's title is over 120 characters long. The customer than describes benefits of the competing product in detail.
- Left by a reviewer with no other review history.
I'm concerned that this review was paid for by a competitor.
Seller Support told us to try clicking the Report link on the review from the customer-facing side, but we (frankly) have no reason to believe that this accomplished anything, especially when done on an account or IP address associated with our selling account. Because there's no channel for sellers to request reviews to be looked into through Seller Central, we're asking a forum mod to look into this.

That is correct. It is all run by Bots and buyers can say whatever they want. It is the same as feedback.
How many different products do you sell? You are a retailer. You never went into a store that sold 5-6 items. Why, there is no profit in it. They sell thousands of different items. They all do not sell daily, but enough o sell daily to make a good profit. The more products a seller sells, the less they have time to focus on one review.

You will find on Amazon that reviews are normally
1. Paid for
2. Paid for by competitor
3. Fake
4. Angry Karens
The rating system is broken and needs to be revamped.
Average people when happy are too lazy to post a review, let alone click a star.
