Regulatory Advertising Fees for other countries I do not sell or advertise at

Hi there,

I noticed that the advertising invoice page is now showing multiple countries. I cant seem to find the old one with just the US anymore. I was always able to see the current non billed ad costs.

Additionally, I noticed Regulatory Advertising Fees on my last invoices. Its only pennies, however, I do not advertise in Spain or CA and do not sell there.

Does anyone know why this happens? I found an article about Regulatory Advertising Fees starting August 14th 2024 saying that if my ad is clicked in one of those countries it incurs fees for me.

Question is how is my ad clicked there? Who shows it there? Can I turn off other countries for advertising? I only sell on the US market and all others are disabled.

Anyone notice this yet or know why its happening?

Hello @Seller_PTpw5SQTsiboc

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums.

I understand that you are seeing regulatory advertising fees in stores that you do not sell in. In this case, I would suggest contacting an advertising support specialist directly via the Advertising Console Support Center for additional guidance. If you still need additional assistance, please feel free to provide the related case ID number to this thread and I can review the correspondence already provided.

I have included a help page on regulatory fees for your reference if needed:

I finally got answer on both of my questions:

1. they changed the interface you can not see accumulating ad costs anymore...

2. "When you use the User Location in your DSP account, you reach customers using their real time IP address and customer’s billing address postal code. This feature offers both options as default. The ad will be served if the customers matches either one of the User Location options. This default feature can lead to serve the ad to a customer with a billing address in one country, for example in United States, but they’re actually travelling in another country, for example in Italy. In these instances, the ad can be displayed to a customer in a country that has Digital Services Taxes, and Regulatory Advertising Fees can be charged as a result. To avoid any further Regulatory Advertising Fees, we suggest you to change your campaigns targeting settings to IP address only. This will ensure that a customer is only served an ad based on their current location. However, this could potentially exclude customers whose information on file with Amazon is the location you want to target."

So I will just keep everything as is not worth to risk for pennies.
