Amazon spending more than allotted in campaign's daily budget

As others have found, Amazon snuck in a change to sponsored product budgets that allows them to increase the daily spend 100% of the original budget. This setting can be changed to 25% but it cannot be set to zero. Conveniently, this setting is found somewhere other than the "Campaign settings" where we set our daily budgets and bidding strategies to keep costs under control.

Additionally, the "daily budget" is not daily, rather a monthly budget based on the daily amount. In my case, I see that towards the end of the month, Amazon has drastically increased advertising spend without increasing sales and *decreasing* ROAS. Despite my setting campaigns to "dynamic bids - down only" Amazon is overspending my daily budget. I did not approve spending beyond my daily budget, and the spend is unwarranted without a justifiable return.

These changes are sneaky and underhanded at best, theft at worst.

Hello @Seller_48UUWRpG3mKoV

Thank you for making your post in the seller forums.

As you say, the daily budget amount is averaged over the course of a calendar month. On any given day you could spend less than your daily budget, or up to 100% more than your average daily budget using leftover amounts from previous days in the month. The purpose of this is so you can benefit from high traffic days.

You can choose to opt-in to 100% increases on daily budget, but the minimum is 25%.
