Inventory placement fees
Howdy All,
Another enthusiastic post about these new inventory placements fees we are all extremely thrilled about.
For those who don't know you can technically opt out of this by going into your settings and clicking "fulfillment by Amazon". Once in there if you scroll down to inbound settings and click edit. If you select the "amazon optimized shipment splits" this will theoretically get rid of the inbound placement fees whilst having to ship to more locations.
My question is how often are we even going to be provided this option?
I went and did a test run with a shipment plan once i changed my settings and wasn't even given the amazon optmized shipment splits option.
This is for sure rough for all of us!

You are going to have to guess, there is no reliability.
While it may be fine to get you through your existing inventory, having no reliability that a particular method will work when your new inventory arrives makes even buying new inventory cringeworthy.
I am unlikely to invest in new inventory without a reliably known cost to inbound

@Seller_WRjaBqgmSQkH6,
Thank you for taking the time to create this thread, and for your feedback.
The availability of the varying shipments options will depend on a few different factors including:
- Whether your shipment includes a mix of standard-size items, non-standard-size items, or special handling categories
- Whether each box contains the same mix and quantities of SKUs
- Quantities and number of boxes for each item
- Geographical demand
To maximize the number of inbound options, try the following:
- Create separate shipments for standard-size items, non-standard-size items, and each special handling category
- Ensure that the item mix and item quantities are equal across all boxes
- Increase the number of boxes

Same experience. The setting "amazon optimized shipment splits" is not working. It used to some time ago before this fiasco.
