Customer returned a printer to us which had wrong model and serial number and left us a negative feedback as below. Amazon seller support did not remove feedback. What is the point of having Amazon return policy if customer can use feedbacks against you to abuse system and amazon just allow that. What is Amazon expectation? just refund customers in full while they can fraud us ?
Didn't refund the correct amount, charged me a restocking fee equal to the cost of the check scanner, which was over $300.

Did you charge a fee for materially different? File a safe-t claim? The feedback is not going to be removed as it does not violate Amazon policy.

Yes, amazon only want sellers that can afford a certain level of shrinkage. They want customers to be happy because people who engage in "friendly fraud" generally still pay for most of their orders - so amazon still considers them valuable customers.
A buyers fraud levels have to hit about $1,000,000 (US) or about $300k EU before Amazon considers it fraud.

Dealing with the same situation, customer returned an item with a different serial number, 100% restocking fee, they pushed back for weeks, made threats constantly, then once they realized they had no path to a refund, they left damaging negative feedback which will certainly hurt my sales and reputation.
Our only replies to them during these threats was where they can return the original unit back to.
The level some people are willing to stoop down to is disgusting, I am heavily pursuing an IC3 complaint and involving my local post master and UPS Manager. The bad actor I dealt with is certainly VERY experienced as they attempted to reseal the original cellophane around the outside of the packaging.
A mod might be able to help you get this removed, especially if they opened an A to Z claim and lost or a chargeback and it was defended.
These people need to be stopped, you did the right thing!

I also felt the same way all the time and I doubt and hesitate to sell at Amazon more items. You believe or not, I never shop from Shein but I have many Shein bags because some customers returned Shein items rather than I shipped thru Amazon. We can claim with Safe T claim and Amazon refund to us before. However, recently, Amazon kept denying Safe T claim by us even if I claimed only a few cases among of many customers' abusing cases. Maybe Amazon itself and third party sellers face too many abusing customers as economy is going down. Amazon policy is basically the customer satisfaction first which is very attractive for online customers but that policy is a nightmare for thrid party sellers. I believe Amazon is still the first choice of online sellers but all sellers can't make profit unfortunately. I also believe next year 2025 will be the worst year. Before iPhone 16 is released, I talked to many guys iPhone 16 sales is my index for next year my biz direction planning. Unfortunetely, iPhone 16 sales is not that good, 15% to 20% sales down. I am considering all kinda cost reduction plan and look for multi selling sources, both onlines and offline. There are many online platforms you can sell such as Shopify, eBay, Shop, Walmart, etc. But I believe Amazon is the first choice to sell. However, Amazon is not the best choice for making profit. I don't have a solution for Amazon allowing theft and fraud BUT if this was shipped using the USPS please report the issue to the Postal Inspectors as mail fraud. If not, report it to the carrier.
ALSO the Government has a site IC3 (Amazon will remove the link if I put it here but it’s part of the FBI for an easy search) where you can report the use of the internet for theft if it was UPS, FedEx or whatever. It is generally used to report on websites but it can be used to report buyers as well if you happen to encounter one of the Amazon scam crowd.
In all cases it at least puts the con artists into a data base for future reference by the authorities.

It's truly no different than shoplifting from a Big Box store. And Amazon enables the theft even when you repeatedly use the proper Amazon modules to report Amazon Buyer Policy Violations.
It's criminal activity that Amazon is complacent with.

Statement completely untrue. Customer received correct item, requested return as bought by mistake and returned item in complete used condition with missing all original accessories, manuals and box. Customer requested return 3 weeks later upon receiving of the printer

This is why scammers love FBA orders. An FBA return gets automatically refunded and when you finally get "the item" whatever the buyer may have sent back, its already too late AND you have no information about the customer to complain. I have tried it before, the customer service rep had me take all these pictures and then said they sent it to a "different department" where nothing was ever done. I gave up after doing it a few times. I guess the cost of doing business on Amazon is allowing yourself to be scammed a few times and take losses
