Need Help with Incorrect Item Type Keyword and Browser Node for ASIN over 3 years with 100s ticket

Hello everyone,

We are the brand owner, and this issue has been going on for a long time with 100s of tickets; we’ve been facing it for the past three years regarding our product's incorrect item type keyword classification. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this through Amazon Seller Support, we have not been successful. We tried to delete and re-add an Excel sheet. Almost 99% of all our our competitors are on the correct browser node, which we request our ASIN to move to with the same Item Type. Still, they always turn us down and say it's relevant, which means 99% of our competitors are not relevant in their browser node and specifically, our product is not thermostat and element and parts, but they put us in this sub-category.

Our recent ticket id: 15535609601

Issue Details:

Product ASIN: XXXXX

Problem: Incorrect item type keyword classification

Attempts to Resolve: We have suggested a category browse node change, but the catalog team rejected it many times after a second review. They stated that the product is assigned to the current category based on the details page and customer search behavior. However, this is different since our current category is unrelated to our product.

Amazon’s Response: Amazon’s support team has informed us that they cannot accept the suggested change. They have based their decision on how customers find products through search and browse. We have referred to the help pages provided by Amazon, but the issue remains unresolved.

Request for Help: We seek advice or solutions from other sellers who might have faced similar issues. Any guidance on successfully changing the item type keyword classification or navigating this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support!

I've got a very similar issue.n. I was updating bullet points, misspelled a word. Got an Inaccurate info error. figured out that it was a misspelled word. fixed the word. After fixing the word I got the item type keyword error. Support says they've tried to fix it and wait 72 hours a couple times now. then they told me to delete and relist (which I am scared to do.) Thanks for sharing that that also did not work for you.

I get the same message as you when using the self service tool. (support didn't even suggest the self service tool, I had to learn about that from these forums
