Self fullfilled prime? Is it worth signing up?

I know Amazon is the only place I get returns on out of all the venues we sell on.

I am eligible to start selling with self fullfilled prime. I see that I have to offer free shipping and free returns. Is it worth all the hassle to sell using prime? How much of a boost in sales would I be looking at?

Just curious as to what other sellers thought. Are you selling using prime? Do you like it? interested to hear all of the pros and cons of prime ? Please share your thought and thanks.

I may be wrong but I am pretty sure you have to be able to fulfill orders 6 days a week.

Free one-day and two-day delivery for Prime customers

Free nationwide standard shipping for all customers

Meet minimum thresholds for one-day and two-day delivery speeds as viewed by Prime customer detail page views

An on-time delivery rate of at least 93.5%

A valid tracking rate of at least 99%

A seller-initiated cancellation rate of less than 0.5%

Ship and deliver Prime orders on weekends (Saturday, Sunday, or both)

Offer Free Returns on items weighing under 50 lb

All post-order customer service inquiries are managed by Amazon

Very difficult to maintain 1 day ship times, unless you have multiple warehouses accross the USA. Or have affordable 1 day shipping options.

This ellimates most sellers from attaining SFP

Spending more to do Amazons job for them with zero benefits to sellers other than illusion of PRIME logo. It makes sense for Amazon they make more and you do all the work and you accept all loss due to Amazon customers Win Win but unfortunately that is for Amazon!

No chance. Unless you are in the middle of the country shipping anything 1-2 day delivery is obscenely expensive, even then it's cost prohibitive. And with Amazon handling customer service expect an increase in refunds.

If you want to offer prime delivery it's better to just use FBA.

Just go using a shipping price estimator and see how much it will cost to ship 1-2 day delivery to the furthest destination. You'll probably find you are losing money.

As mentioned above, this is only really viable if you have multiple warehouses across the country so you are close to the customer and then the rates are reasonable.

there is a caveat to the 1-2day delivery requirement. amz determines from your shipping template the orders that can arrive in that time and those that can't. for those that can't customers will not see the prime shipping badge with your offer.

we did SFP for quite awhile and it worked out for us. we lost our privilege due to a shipping mistake on our part.

a great benefit is during the holiday season. FBA stalls out during this time of year causing many FBA sellers products to be unavailable for lengthy periods of time due to FBA logistics. We made a killing against these competitors using SFP. our products were always available and had the prime badge.

Amazon requires higher standards for seller fulfilled prime then they do for themselves. How many times have I personally ordered from Amazon fulfilled and it takes longer than 2 days.

I'm trying it for the first time beginning today. Right now I'm in the 30 day trial phase. I got an order that said Prime from my vantage point, which confused me. The shipping price was the same as I've been paying though $4.44, and delivery was 4-5 days away. That doesn't sound like 2-day shipping, but it did come-up as Prime and that is what Amz offered, so IDK.

I'm not going to go into hawk for 2-day shipping, but I'll let this 30 day trial play out and see if (1) I like it, and (2) I pass.

We ship most of our items FBM but a handful of items make sense to sell as FBA. The FBA items typically generate a boost in sales but at a slightly higher cost per sale. When SFP became available, we thought, great, we get the benefits of Prime without having to have the cost of having inventory at Amazon.

The reality for us, the additional cost for us to meet the shipping deadlines was much higher per unit then having the same item ship via FBA. Within 60 days, we pulled the plug on SFP. I am not sure if anything has changed but it was not beneficial for us. Good luck!

The other thing is I read that there is an additional 2% fee now. That on its own is the reason we will not use the program.
