Generic Item Taken Down for Seller who has labeled product with a Brand

I am a new seller and I am posting this discussion in order to learn for the future.

I purchased a few items which ARE generic, there are NO brand names on this product, nor the packaging. In fact ONLY the manufacturer is listed on the packaging. There is no UPC.

I purchased just a few of these items to see how they would do. During my research I did see a listing with this item and in the listings title was a brand name.

Since I wholeheartedly feel that this item is generic I applied to sell it and was granted approval for it as a "generic" item no UPC needed. Well my listing was reported and it has been removed. Its fine with me I have an alternative way to sell the few repeats of this item I purchased.

I just want to understand HOW this can be listed as a branded item? Also, this is branded as one item name and sold by that brand owner, yet the listing is a different amazon seller. Can someone help me understand this situation better?

To shed a bit more light. Where I purchased this product I am posting about this item is sold, on the site where I purchased this item there are 2 listings for it

One which cost $13.68 for 1 item and the name brand IS notated. It also has a seller authentication letter along with it. I have also posted the listing on the site where the item was purchased.

I have posted the listing I purchased which costs $2.39 and as far as I can tell it is generic.

This item still shows inactive, of course, however overnight I had a sale of this item? Will I get in further trouble if I fulfill the order?

Hello @Seller_w7CPEKsOpj7HW,

Thanks for posting to the Forums. I've reviewed the details of this issue. The listing you mention is currently infringing on a major brand of coffee. The infringing info must be removed from all sections of the listing and its attributes.
