Problem adding paperback edition of my hardcover book
We self-publish books that we have written and have been selling them through Amazon for many years. Until now we have never had a problem adding a new title.
Now we are trying to add a paperback edition of a title we had been selling in hardcover on Amazon. We are almost sold out of the hardcover will not reprint it, and will offer only the new paperback from now on. We purchased a new ISBN for the paperback edition but cannot add the listing because Amazon will not accept the ISBN. We keep getting Error Message 8572.
I opened a case by email and the various people asked for more information (proof of copyright, proof of ISBN ownership, ownership of our publishing operation), all of which I provided. Then a final person emailed to tell me they can’t help me without more information (all of which I had already provided), and that they have closed the case!
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Can I get someone to phone me about this? I think if I could speak to someone they might understand and untangle the problem. Or am I just dreaming?

Did you use a different ISBN and UPC for the paperback edition? Remember, Amazon Bots do not know to talk yet, I sure Andy Jassy's working on it.

I've had the opposite problem. For several of my hardbacks, only the paperback edition is listed in Amazon's catalog for some reason.

Slightly retitle your book. You might have to do the same with the ISBN provider. For example, if your original Title was "I Am Here" ... then you can retitle "I Am Here, second printing."

Hey @Seller_Kd4Q5ypMFZyCI, typically error 8572 occurs when the provided product ID (ASIN, UPC, EAN, ISBN, or JAN) does not match with the brand or product. If you're still having trouble with this, can you let me know the Seller Support case ID you mentioned?
