Is a 14 day reserve period normal?
I'm 2 months in and right when I was going to have my first pay out around july 20, amazon hit me with an updated 14 day reserve period. It's been like that ever since and it's killing me. I tried reaching out to support but they literally repeated what I was told right before this even happened. Is 14 days normal for a new seller like me or am I missing something?

You are missing nothing, it is normal. The amount and disbursement is based on your sales velocity and average amount of the sale. Your funds will come, usually in the off week of the regular distribution. The holdbacks will increase as the holiday season approaches. This happens to all sellers, not just you. And..... The reason is that Amazon does not want to get holding the bag as far as refunds are concerns if the seller skips town. It almost seems that Amazon recognizes the site has a massive return problem, and believes this is the way to solve it.

Hi @Seller_LeglaiEKj92u2,
Steve from Amazon here, thank you for the thread. It is a normal part of selling on Amazon to see funds in the Account level reserve section of the Statement View tab on your Payments report. It’s the amount of money that is reserved to ensure that you have enough funds to fulfill any financial obligations, such as refunds, claims, or chargebacks. Please see below for more information about account level reserves.
What is account level reserve?
Please let me know if there are any other questions.
Thanks,
Steve

Also be aware that if a payment you were expecting on the 14th day is actually the 15th day, you will not receive it until day 28.
Of course as your account gets more established you may become eligible for disbursement on demand, express disbursement and some other ways that Amazon will give you YOUR money faster - for a fee.
