Seasonal Items: Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) VS. Send to Amazon

For items that are seasonal, for instance, Christmas items, that are shipping to Amazon no, is Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) VS. Send to Amazon better? Does one make your items available to customers faster? What's your experience?

Hi @Seller_LaXfWb19u77C5,

Dominic from Amazon here, this isn't something I would compare with the two. Send to Amazon is a streamlined shipment creation workflow that requires fewer steps to replenish your Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) inventory. Amazon Warehousing and Distribution is a third-party logistics program that provides long-term, upstream bulk inventory storage that’s cost effective. In addition, the program automatically replenishes your inventory in Prime-ready fulfillment centers.

Please let me know if you have any questions, at the end of the day the decision is down to what is best for your business.

Best,

Dominic

Hey @Seller_LaXfWb19u77C5, just to piggyback on my colleague Dominic above, the AWD team shared the following:

The auto-replenishment algorithm considers 5 years of historical data and upcoming sales forecast to bake in increased demand for the ASIN at the seller level. The auto-replenishment algorithm looks at similar ASINs and products in addition to an ASIN’s sales history. Auto-replenishment predicts demand without historical data for a specific ASIN based on how similar product or product types have performed in the past. The algorithm will create an optimum inventory level for the applicable ASIN that reflects the sales forecast, and auto-replenishment will move inventory from AWD to FBA to maintain the determined Optimum inventory level in FBA.

For more info please reference the Replenishment from Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) to FBA network help page.
