How do i ship products to Amazon Fullfillment Centers from manufacturers? New amazon seller please help!

Hi all, I am a new seller to amazon and I am currently in the process of finding a manufacturer for the products I want to sell on amazon.

The manufacturers I am reaching out to are asking me what's the address I will be shipping my products to. I am not sure the address because I am wanting to utilize FBA. How do I find the address to provide to the manufacturers? Also are there any other steps I need to make sure and cover with my manufacturers regarding amazon product requirements etc?

Any advice helps! Thanks so much!

Tell them you are using FBA and you won't get a destination address until you have products to ship in. If they need it to give a quote, just tell them to break out shipping as a separate line item and provide an Amazon FC address in the middle of the country. They will need to adjust once the FBA shipment is started.

Also if you are doing private label or white label Amazon FBA may not allow much inventory until you have proven sales. You may want to start with a small order to your own storeroom and then do FBM or a small FBA shipment.

@Seller_LVZcgxAgZ2xBv types faster (and shorter messages) than I do!!

As a new seller you may be setting yourself up for a VERY expensive lesson in what NOT to do.

Amazon FBA may be very convenient (IF they do everything correctly and don't lose your items) but it can be extremely expensive if you load up on items that do not sell quickly.

Try this instead --

START by selling FBM. First of all, you are going to be dealing with an entirely new supplier. I'm going to guess, based on the context, that you are sourcing from China.

It is IMPERATIVE that you receive the first few shipments so they can be inspected for the accuracy and the quality of the items being shipped to you. You would want to do this even if the source is in the US. You may be too young to remember the context of "trust but verify" but the concept is true in nearly all situations.

By selling FBM you can set up test sales on multiple outlets. You can test for price elasticity. You can see if there is even any demand for your product. You can see what the costs for shipping are using different methods.

You may find that you can do it cheaper and more efficiently than Amazon can.

IF you don't find enough demand then sending things to FBA will mean long term storage charges that can cost more than the products are worth.

In any case, follow the rules for the new, improved, Amazon. It's a 2 step process now!

DO YOU have an LOA from the brand allowing you to sell on here?

If it is your own brand, are you in Brand Registry? Are you registered with the USPTO for some protection at least? If not you will be flooded with offshore competition -- possibly even the manufacturer itself!

DID YOU source from AUTHORIZED wholesale sources that your rep at the brand says are OK.

Again, even if it is your brand you can still have claims against you for IP and patent issues unless you paid for a search!

NOTE the verification of the wholesaler is required from the brand that the source is legitimate and authorized, NOT from one of those touted on TikTok and YouTube as having "thousands of brands and products" that assures you that they are authorized.

If you have watched any YouTube or TikTok videos FORGET everything you saw there.
