Need Guidance: Chargeback Issue for Lost UPS Shipment - Shipping Label Purchased through Amazon

Hi,

I’m seeking advice on how to handle a chargeback related to a recent order. The shipment was handled by UPS, which we purchased through Amazon buy shipping. The package was shipped on time but unfortunately got lost in transit. We are now facing a chargeback for this order.

I would appreciate any guidance on the following:

Handling the Chargeback: What steps should I take to address a chargeback when the shipment was purchased through Amazon and shipped on time but lost in transit by UPS?

If the chargeback goes in favor of the customer, does the financial loss fall on me, or does Amazon cover it since I purchased the shipping label through Amazon and shipped on time? Understanding the responsibility in this situation will help me manage potential losses better.

Thank you for any insights or advice you can provide. Your help is greatly appreciated!

@Glenn_Amazon @Tatiana_Amazon @Cooper_Amazon @Danika_Amazon @Jameson_Amazon @Michelle_Amazon @Danny_Amazon @Blake_Amazon @Jim_Amazon @Quincy_Amazon @Steve_Amazon @Rose_Amazon @Joey_Amazon

Warm Regards

Hi @Seller_eFs94Xj4Zzeg4,

Thank you for reaching out on the Seller Forums!

Typically, you can respond to a chargeback claim in one of two ways:

  1. Issue an immediate refund. For more information, see Refund Options.
  2. Represent your case to the credit card company via Amazon. You can represent your case either on the Chargeback Claims page listed in the Performance menu in Seller Central, or by replying to the chargeback email you received from Amazon.

If you haven't done so already, I would highly recommend reading through the information and best practices for chargebacks in these two resources:

Please let me know if this helps! If you have any additional questions or need further assistance with this, please don't hesitate reaching out.

All the best,

Jameson
