Fedex Incorrectly Measuring Boxes - Huge Fines
I started selling a product two weeks ago on Amazon and eBay and purchased boxes that fit within the guidelines of the Fedex OneRate services (2Day and Saver). I received an underpaid label charge on Friday from eBay and another from Amazon on Saturday.
Upon further investigation, FedEx is mismeasuring the size of these boxes, pushing the box beyond the FedEx OneRate limits. They did this across my eBay and Amazon shipments for the majority of orders. Based on the two-week delay, and the number of orders I've sent under these services, I'm expecting these fines to be over $10k once all of the packages are delivered. I certainly wouldn't have used these services if I had known this was possible.
All shipments are the same box/item and domestic. eBay called me and waived the fees after looking into the situation. I've opened a case with Amazon.
Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should do next?
UPDATE: An Amazon agent got back to me; however, the agent doesn't seem to understand the situation. This is the second agent (second case) to not address the issue.

One thing we found out early on is that when you purchase boxes, you're given the interior dimensions. When a carrier measures it, they measure the outside dimensions. This can vary from 1/8" to 1/2 inch per side. So, what you thought was an 8x8x4 box actually isn't as far as the carrier is concerned.
As for getting fees credited -- probably not going to happen with Amazon. There have been numerous threads about being overcharged by the carrier. Amazon tells you to contact the carrier, and the carrier says 'you're not the shipper of record' and to contact Amazon. It's a vicious circle.

Honestly haven't read all the threads. Most of our inventory is FBA. Just did a report earlier this week and found we have extra $21 total charged on our FBM orders. The one I checked was one that I though may or may not actually go over 4 pounds (our scale isn't perfect). USPS charged it as 5 pounds. Eventually we'll look at each charge, but it's not a high priority right now because of how low it is.

Hello, the best solution is to get your own FedEx account and use your account to ship FedEx One Rate. you can use your account # with buy shipping services.
Once you have your own account FedEx will assign you a FedEx Rep that can get the fees charged back if you can show the FedEx rep the boxes you use follow the FedEx one rate size requirements.

You are using boxes that came directly from FedEx, correct?
I've been in the One Rate program for a while and as far as I know you have to use the FedEx supplied (free) boxes/ padded pak/ flat envelope that come directly from FedEx.

This is why we don't use Fedex or UPS anymore....too many phantom "adjustments" and impossible to get these erroneous "adjustments" appealed or credited back.

I would Avoid Using FedEx, if you can. Only use them as a last resort. When I ship boxes I always use dimension that are like half an inch more than what the box usually is. At one point I was shipping boxes that normally with USPS ground would be around $6.50 - $6.8. I started seeing Fedex 2 day and 2day express saver at $7.01. I started using that seeing it would get my packages to customer must faster than USPS ground. Big Mistake. Everything going smoothly until 1 month later $56 adjustment fee for all the Fedex 2 day packages. Never using Fedex if I have other option. Fedex is the worst out of the 3 main carrier.
