this product is a pesticide or pesticide device, as defined under the US Federal insecticide fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA)

I have 6 products that were removed claiming they contained a pesticide or pesticide device.

I appealed stated they do not and explain where the product or description says that.

All I get back is robot answer.

There are many merchants selling similar products

this product is not a pesticide or pesticide device, as defined under the US Federal insecticide fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA)

why can't I get an answer to the offering wording

why can't I speak to someone in compliance

Hi @Seller_W0IPRcZcAZzjK,

If you're comfortable with it, sharing more details about your product here might allow someone from the community to help out.

In the meantime, have you checked out this help page? https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G202115120. It explains how not only direct product claims but also indirect or implied claims can lead to a pesticide or pesticide device classification. Sometimes, specific words or phrases in your description can unexpectedly trigger this classification, so it might be worth reviewing the examples provided.

Best, Michael

Hi @Seller_W0IPRcZcAZzjK,

I did a quick search using your forum username and found a water softener (ASIN B09BK1BS98). Could this be one of your products?

In the help page I shared earlier (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G202115120), it mentions 'water-treatment units' under 'Common examples of pesticide devices,' and it's my guess that Amazon might be categorizing your water softener under this classification. This could explain why it was flagged, even if your product descriptions don't directly state antimicrobial or pesticidal claims. The inherent function of the product, treating water to remove impurities, might be interpreted as qualifying it as a pesticide device.

I know this might not be the resolution you were expecting, but I wanted to offer this perspective to help clarify why your product may have been flagged.

Hope this helps!

Best, Michael

Thank you for your time @Seller_W0IPRcZcAZzjK,

I'm sorry you are having a difficult time appealing your product as not a pesticide or pest control device. Can you please provide your most recent Case ID on this issue so I investigate further. @Seller_i6S8knzW6zU6Z is correct that the primary is likely claims on the product. Knowing the specific ASIN and Case will make this a much faster process. Thank you for providing your further information. Thank you for your understanding.
