What's the secret for searching for product skus?

We are trying to narrow down our products to only certain skus that contain the word blue. When I try this via the manage inventory search field, only results with the text "Blue" in the product title show. If I narrow it to search by sku or fnsku only, nothing is shown. I've tried to use an * as a wildcard before and after and still no results. Am I the only one?

This is purely a guess, but try using "%" for the wildcard rather than "*".

I have no idea if this will work, as I don't have anything similarly searchable in my SKU, but it's a valid wildcard on many non-Windows systems.

One thing I've noticed is if you search for the beginning part of a sku, it will locate all of the available skus with that text. But if you are trying to search for the middle part of a sku, no results are shown.

For example, if my sku was CBX-DJSI-Blue-Small

If I type in CBX- this sku would show. But if I typed in just Blue, nothing would be shown.
