I don't work for Amazon
I don’t work for Amazon. For my Music CDs they are not allowing me to change the condition of the item even though as time goes on the CD is used and the condition might change from used like new to used very good. They constantly remove items for sale if your price is too high when they don’t realize Different presses (releases in order) are worth more than a second press they need to stay out of the Music business something they know nothing about. Thank God for eBay and Discogs where 80% of my sales are done anyways. I don’t need Amazon and I don’t work for you. I don’t work for anyone. This is not my full time job I don’t need you. Amazon needs me more than I need them which sounds absolutely ridiculous but when I need them 0% it’s not that ridiculous as they would lose sales by not having me although not much compared to their total sales, but I’m at 0% needing them as I don’t need to sell my music as it’s not my full-time job and there are competitors that are better. We’re all going to die with thousands of dollars in the bank so I may have some leftover CDs that I didn’t sell big deal. It’s a burden to package and ship them anyways. Not sure why I even bother. The bottom line is stop micromanaging people and let people handle their stores on their own. You know nothing about vinyl records and music CDs stay out of our business. I don’t work for you !

doubtful, with their 1.4 BILLION in sales a DAY

I agree with you on the pricing, and a little bit on the ability to change condition codes if you find you have not written an accurate condition description, but are you saying you list CDs as Like New and continue to use them until they are Very Good, or worse?

It sounds ridiculous because it is. Amazon won't blink or even notice if you leave.
We have never been able to change the condition code -- it has always been necessary to create a new listing and delete the old to change condition.

You're missing a couple of points here:
1) You do work for Amazon. We all do, whether we want to admit it or not.
3) We're all expendable. Every seller who reads this post could stop selling on Amazon tomorrow, and they wouldn't notice.

Amazon does not need you or me, nor do they want us. They lost billions every year supporting small hobbyist sellers. They are moving to brand owners and larger groups representing brand owners. Since that, they are starting to be profitable. They MUST micromanage us to their goals, as they have to find value for their shareholders. 3p sellers are not what will make Amazon profitable, we historically are what made them lose money!
You do know they lost $10 BILLION in 2023 right? Amazon needed to figure out how to make money or it would be over for all of us! No media seller is buying PPC, are you? No hobbyist is using the extra features and paying for them.
Thinking that Amazon needs you is the beginning of a lot of incorrect assumptions that will end with you not evolving your business in a way to survive!
We also sell media, and I can tell you we have sold more CD's this year than any of the last 3 years (year to date numbers).
If you sell on Amazon, you have to understand that it is a HUGE task to do it well and succeed AND to evolve with them!
I suggest you start reading the annual reports to really understand what has happened and what IS happening.

Amazon does not want sales that is why they do this the want all sales traffic to go to their items or high volume profit items just think of it as Amazon giving you the mi=ddle finger.

My annual sales on Amazon are in the multi-millions, and I promise you...they wouldn't notice if I were gone.

I am afraid I am not only unaware of this, but I between all of the "Fees" Amazon charges for FBA, and the almost 100% Liability on the Seller for FBM, I find it hard to believe that Amazon Lost ANY money on 3rd Party Sellers.
I am unaware of Amazon financially investing in "Small Hobyist Sellers" of any kind (or large ones either), and I am unsure just HOW Amazon could lose money on Sellers of ANY size.
There is no "Free" lunch on Amazon. You pay for everything you get, eve the Seller Protection Policy is an Insurance Policy the Seller pays for.
Amazon charges for the ability to Sell here, and takes a significant percentage of the Sale (including the invoiced Postage).
When Amazon DOES "Invest, it is in physical product purchased by Amazon specifically to compete with 3rd PArty Sellers ON Amazon.
Furthermore, virtually ALL of Amazon's Policies Favor Amazon much in the same way the Odds favor "The House" at a Casino.
The odds are all in their favor. It costs them virtually nothing to keep a details page in the system once it has been created.
I am afraid I will need you to explain just how and where Amazon loses
And where you are getting the data you are basing your conclusions on.
Maybe so, but it was NOT because they spent that money Investing in, or even Supporting 3rd Party Sellers.
If Amazon loses (lost) money, it will be because they expanded SO dramatically and thoroughly that Amazon REQUIRES us (the Consumers) to not only continue to make their purchase using Amazon, but to purchase more and more as time goes on.
NOT because they "Blew it all" on "Small Hobbyist Sellers".
They keep expanding, but EVERYTHING has a limit...

Yes, this has always been a nuisance, that if you want to revise the condition of an item you have to delete your original listing and start again. But compared to the LARGE frustrations with Amazon (such making it almost impossible to list an item that is not already listed on Amazon with an existing ASIN), this seems a minor inconvenience.
